Jana is a mother of four (including a set of twin girls) and a savvy social media user who runs her own blog and graphic design business. Jana struggles to both fall asleep and stay asleep.


Sticking to Bedtime

jana_we4Today I got to check in with my sleep expert Natalie for a brief Google Hangout. I feel like my sleep has improved a little bit, which is good. I still have a long way to go, but it’s nice to feel like some of the suggestions that Natalie offered when we first talked have helped. She seemed pleased to hear I was doing a little better. Meditation and yoga have definitely helped to clear my mind and help me to relax, which seems to help me fall asleep a little faster at night. If I can get to bed around 10:30 pm, I seem to have an easier time falling asleep than if I clean and do household chores or work until later. Natalie suggested that my natural circadian rhythm may be that my body is ready for bed at closer to 10:30 pm rather than a later hour. So I’m going to stick to trying to go to bed closer to 10:30 pm instead of later, regardless of how the day goes.
