It’s been a challenging start to the school year, but with the exception of Tuesday, I’ve been sleeping about four hours a night. I know I need more, but this has been an improvement for me.
The issue Tuesday night was our dog, who spent most of the night barking and jumping on my bed. The constant disruption made it difficult to fall asleep, so out of sheer desperation, I left my bedroom, and went into the guest room to sleep.
When I woke up, it was so dark I couldn’t tell the time. I left the room to check (unfortunately, 4:00 a.m.), which left both me AND the dog feeling fully alert. However, I felt like I could have actually fallen back asleep if I didn’t get up. I wonder, could changing rooms be something that helps me sleep going forward?
In the meantime, I’ll have to figure out a bedtime routine for the dog.
