A Night Without My Sleep Mask

The past 24 hours have been purely lovely. Almost. My three best girlfriends and I took a very mini overnight girls getaway together. We spent the day and night in a beachfront villa on magnificent Captiva Island. Every minute of our time together was hilarious, meaningful, fun and memorable. I love these three gals.

Our villa was outfitted with two single beds and one full sized bed. Yikes. Not much sleeping room. The two pregnant girls got the twin beds, which left the full sized bed to myself and my other bestie. I don’t normally mind sleeping in close quarters with others, HOWEVER. I forgot my baby – my sleep mask. I believe I’ve mentioned before – I’d rather forget my underwear than my sleep mask. I have no idea how much I actually slept. At one point, I actually tried to use the extra pillow as a makeshift sleep mask. I can’t say it was successful. All I know is that I was sooo tired in the morning. The take-away? Never, ever forget my sleep mask again. If you don’t have one, get one.
